Teflon™ Fluoropolymer
Superior Non-Stick and Chemical Resistance
Teflon™ Fluoropolymer coating is a non-stick, low-friction, and chemically resistant coating made from fluoropolymer compounds such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene), and PFA (perfluoroalkoxy alkane).
When combined with a polyamide-imide binder, these coatings create a tough, durable film that provides dry lubrication and excellent abrasion resistance. Known for their slippery surface, high heat resistance, and durability, they are widely used in industrial, automotive, aerospace, and cookware applications.

Process Overview
Teflon™ Fluoropolymer coatings are applied using a spray process followed by curing at high temperatures to create a durable, long-lasting surface. Different surface preparatory methods appropriate for the substrates will be used prior to the coating process. Coating thickness is varied to suit the application. Typical coating thickness varies from 0.5 to 0.8 mil (12 – 20 microns) and can be recoated up to 3.0 mils. Can be coated on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
Advantages of Teflon™ Fluoropolymer
These coatings create a durable, non-stick, and low-friction surface, improving performance and protection across various applications. They offer excellent release properties, a relatively low curing temperature, and strong abrasion resistance—with a Taber wear test result of approximately 9 milligrams per 500 cycles. Additionally, these coatings do not interfere with magnetic particle inspection for detecting cracks.
- Non-Stick Properties – Prevents adhesion, making cleaning easy.
- Low Friction – Reduces wear & abrasion, improving efficiency in moving parts.
- Chemical & Corrosion Resistance – Protects against harsh chemicals and oxidation.
- High-Temperature Resistance – Can withstand temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).
- Electrical Insulation – Provides excellent dielectric properties.
