Nickel & Chrome Plating

Dual Layer Finishing for Corrosion and Wear Resistance

Nickel-Chrome Plating (Ni-Cr Plating)

Ni-chrome coatings consist of an electroless nickel plating with a precision hard-chrome overlay, providing the maximum wear- and corrosion-resistance on metallic surfaces to ensure precise quality and ultimate performance.

  • Improved wear resistance
  • Improved lubricity
  • Oil retention
  • Better corrosion protection than hard chrome alone

Electroless Nickel Plating (EN Plating)

EN Plating is a chemical reaction that meets both medium and high phosphorus specifications. Regardless of geometry, once a catalyst is immersed into the acid bath, the coating plates evenly throughout the entire part.

Our Benton Harbor, MI facility is equipped to handle parts that are 9 ft. long and weigh as much as 4,000 lbs., making it one of the largest EN Plating facilities in the Midwest. Our EN Plating capabilities and specifications include:

  • 8-11% phosphorus nickel
  • Hardness 48-52 HRc
  • Maximum hardness 60-65 HRc
  • Plating range 0.0002″ to 0.003″ per side
  • Meets AMS 2404 specifications
  • Meets ASTM B733 specifications
  • Meets Mil-C-26074 specifications
  • Meets AMS 2460 specifications
  • Meets AMS QQ-C-320 specifications

Hard Chrome Plating

Precision hard-chrome coatings are applied to tools and dies, hydraulic shafts and cylinders, and many other applications where long-life performance is required.

  • Hardness 65-70 RC
  • Improved wear resistance
  • Improved lubricity
  • Oil retention
  • Restores dimensions of undersized parts
  • Light flash applications from .00005
