Liquid Nitriding

Category: Thermochemical Surface Treatment

Liquid Nitriding

Description

Liquid nitriding is a thermochemical surface treatment that enriches steel and stainless steel components to enhance the wear, friction, hardness, and corrosion properties at the surface.

Substrate(s)

  • 3D Printed Steels
  • Cast Iron
  • Hardened Steel
  • Inconel
  • Maraging Steels
  • Powdered Sintered Steels
  • Stainless Steel
  • Steel
  • Tool Steels

Temp. Ratings

  • Max Temp: 500°C (932°F)
  • Process Temp: 580°C (1076°F)

Thickness

  • Thickness (µ): 0 - 30

Color(s)

  • Black
  • Gray

Process

Liquid nitriding utilizes an activated salt bath to uniformly treat the entire part. Compound layer thickness is 0µm-30µm. Can be used on all steel and stainless steels. Processing Temperature between 950F-1200F
